Discard does the same thing to opposing decks as crash testing does to a car: subject it to massive additional strain across every area until something fails (and hurts the dummy piloting it)

That said, Id prefer a commander with more than a single ETB effect, especially if that effect wont be too impactful until later in the game

Its also incredibly effective with mana dorks that produce mana based on their power like Gyre Sage and, like any card that distributes counters, this pairs nicely with Devoted Druid

This card builds a board state, fills the curve out, pumps creatures, and then helps with card draw, all for very reasonable prices
